  Kirsten Desdemona Bramstedt is an artist and art teacher who lives with her husband, Adrian, in Oakland, California. She has a B.A. in Art and Art History from U.C. Santa Cruz and a Masters in Art Education from the University of New Mexico. She has been teaching art to all ages for nearly 9 years and is currently sharing her passion for art with her students. She enjoys the diversity of the East Bay and exploring different cultures while traveling the world. Along with making and teaching art, Kirsten likes to dance, bicycle and cook with her family and friends.  
Kirsten’s art is an amalgam of drawing, painting and collage. In her travels around the world she has been influenced by the artists Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec, Klimt, Gaudi and Niki de San Phalle as well as medieval architecture and the psychology of Carl Jung.
  Her art is based the ideas of recycling, spirituality, feminism, multiculturalism and the hope for a better world.
